When I’m not talking or reading, I’m writing.
I love to write about things I’m passionate about, where I can research a new subject, learn something new and put something of myself into the process. Travelling with my writing is the dream and one that came through when I went to Lagos Theatre Festival in Nigeria to review it for the British Council Reviews – Lagos Theatre Festival
My first stint at travel writing began in 2011 when I set up my first blog when travelling around South America by myself as a way to stay in touch with friends and family – A Little Bit of Me – My First Blog
When returning home I honed my writing skills completing a Level 5 journalism diploma as part of an apprenticeship with the BBC in conjunction with the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ). Whilst there I also completed specialist modules on Court Reporting and Shorthand which was a great way to learn factual reporting.
Since then I’ve enjoyed writing columns for local media outlet Bristol 24/7:
As well as think pieces which tend to lean towards music, feminism and identity politics:
If there’s a subject you think I could bring a little something to, feel free to get in touch!
